life is like [blank]

What if life was like a chess game.
Now, granted I know absolutely nothing about chess, but you can use it as an analogy for things.

What if: you could take two steps forward or backwards, would that help?
What if: you could pause in life and think about what move you wanted to make before it actually happens
what if: people made you move somewhere even if it wasn't the best choice.
What if: you make a wrong move, its the end.
What if: people played you even more then they do in real life.
What if: people distracted you from the game so you wouldn't win, what would happen?

This may sound kind of lame, think what you will.
But what if life was like chess?
Not sure.
